FOX Sports Rejects Super Bowl Ad Featuring John 3:16

Fox Sports has rejected a Christian group’s proposed Super Bowl commercial featuring the Bible verse John 3:16.

The Lookup 316 commercial by Fixed Point Foundation was refused a spot before the nation’s largest TV viewing audience because it contained too much “religious doctrine,” according to FOX.

"[The commercial] was deemed to be too offensive," said Larry Taunton, executive director of Fixed Point Foundation, to The Christian Post.

"American Idol" contestant Chris Medina has Christians raving about his sense of commitment when he shared his heartbreaking love story on Wednesday night’s show.

Medina, 26, touched the hearts of judges and fans when he shared about his fiancée, Juliana, who is now confined to a wheelchair. Merely two months before the couple was to exchange wedding vows, Juliana got into an accident that left her with a traumatic brain injury. She was in a coma for a month and a half before waking up.

NEW YORK – Pastor Tim Keller challenged a crowd of New York City professionals Sunday to rethink how they view work and to debunk the notion that spiritual vocations matter more to God than secular work.

Keller, founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, explained why all work matters to God and why God matters to work in a lecture held at the Hunter College auditorium for members of the church’s vocation groups. The lecture is the fourth entry in an eight-part lecture series organized by the church’s Center for Faith and Work, which represents professionals from at least 15 industry sectors, including the arts, business and healthcare.

New Zealand's Biggest Christian Music Fest Kicks Off

New Zealand’s biggest Christian Music Festival kicked off Friday with 25,000 people.

Parachute 2011 is hosting a variety of Christian artists and speakers at the four-day festival, including Louie Giglio, John Cameron and Brian “Head” Welch, former guitarist of the metal band Korn.

Some of the activities include a presentation from worship artist Chris Tomlin and renowned speaker Giglio about the popular song “Indescribable.”
