WASHINGTON – During his speech at the 59th National Prayer Breakfast Thursday morning, President Barack Obama said the godmother of his two daughters helped organize prayer groups for him across the country.

As expected, the president spoke about his Christian faith, sharing well-known stories about his non-religious upbringing and how it was through working with churches that got him into public service in the first place.

“America’s rock star preacher” appeared on CNN Wednesday night in an hour-long interview echoing his widely popular beliefs on prosperity, suffering, and homosexuality – with one major change – sin.

Joel Osteen, the pastor of America’s largest church, Lakewood Church in Houston, and his wife Victoria responded to a series of controversial topics brought to light on “Piers Morgan Tonight.”

Most notable was Osteen’s new, or old, view on homosexuality. He responded to the question, “Is homosexuality a sin?”

Chris Hughes of Facebook and Sean Eldridge, political director of the homosexual lobby Freedom to Marry, became engaged on New Year’s Eve and have announced intentions of marrying in New York.

Presently, gay marriage is legal only in Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Washington, D.C.

A 340-year-old Bible was discovered in a Wisconsin church last week, according to local reports.
